In an attempt to serve the community of Moses Lake with the grace and love of God, we need individual volunteers who will dedicate themselves to performing selfless acts of kindness while interacting with those in need.
It is our desire to serve the community of Moses Lake with the love of Jesus Christ. To do so, we believe that each volunteer should meet a few requirements.
· Need to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior.
· Need to be worshiping at a local, biblical church.
· Need to be personable, friendly, kind and non-judgmental toward “clients”.
· Need to be flexible, able to work with other volunteers (from various churches) and able to receive instructions from others.
· Need to have good communication skills.
Available Staff/Volunteer positions:
Receptionist (ONE per 3-hour afternoon shift):
· Answer incoming phone calls with warmth and professionalism.
· Greet incoming “clients” with grace and kindness.
· Show hospitality to all who wait in the front “waiting” room.
· Assist “intake” volunteers with needed information.
“Intake interview” staff (TWO per 3-hour afternoon shift):
· Take each “client” through a lengthy, detailed questionnaire with grace and dignity.
· Make phone calls to individuals, local agencies & churches…to help assist the “client”.
· Offer to pray with clients.
· Give appropriate counsel to clients.
Hours of operation (initial stage): 1:00pm – 4:00pm, Monday – Friday
The Serve Moses Lake office will begin with these hours of operation. As the volunteer base (and need) grows, we will expand our hours into the morning.
*Volunteer Training Meeting*:
When: 7 – 9pm on Monday, October 27th, 2008
Where: Serve ML office (422 W. 3rd Ave, between ML Vision Center and The Calico Cat)
