The Moses Lake Ministerial Association

Our goal is to be an expression of the unity within the body of Christ. We understand the need for many churches within a community. It helps to have churches of different sizes, with different styles of worship and preaching, with different programs and strategies for doing God's work meeting in different places. But that does not mean that the larger body of Christ cannot be unified, and the MLMA exists to embody that reality.

Our primary method for accomplishing this is a monthly meeting for pastors. We meet at noon on the first Tuesday of the month, rotating the location among various churches. Through this we develop friendships, encourage one another and pray together. Beyond this we have from time to time found creative ways in which churches could unite to worship together, to serve the body of Christ together, and to reach out to the community together. If you are a pastor in the Moses Lake area and have not been kept up to date on the meeting times and places, please email the MLMA here and we'll make sure you are added to our communication list.

We understand that different churches with different traditions and heritages will often have distinctives within some of their doctrinal teachings. While we do not minimize any church's commitment to their doctrinal positions, we also seek to find the common ground which unites us as Christians whenever we meet and serve and worship together. What is important to us is that this common ground must be clearly Christian as orthodox Christianity has been expressed historically. To that end we have listed below some of the core convictions that define all truly Christian churches and which we see as important common ground for all churches participating in the MLMA.

  • The Bible as contained in the Old and New Testaments is God's Word.
  • The God of the Bible is one God, and yet a Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • Humanity is fallen and sinful, by nature and by choice. Sin leads only to death and judgment.
  • Jesus Christ is the Son, the second person of the trinity. He came and lived on earth during the incarnation. Being conceived by God and born of Mary he lived his life on Earth as one person in two natures, fully God and fully human, yet without sin.
  • Jesus died on the cross, was buried and rose again on the third day. His perfect sinless sacrifice provided once and for all an atonement for the sins of humanity. His resurrection proved his divine power over death and made resurrection and eternal life possible for humanity.
  • Faith in Jesus Christ, his death and resurrection, is the only way for people to be forgiven for their sins and made right in the sight of God. This is by God's grace and is received through faith, not by any works or ability of our own.
  • The only right response to all God has done for us is to surrender to him not only as our Savior but as our Lord. We continually seek to allow his Holy Spirit to fill us, and to be transformed from our sin nature into the likeness of Jesus himself.
